Negros University President formally assumed the post as
commanding officer of the 1803rd
Ready Reserve Brigade in a
turn-over ceremony held yesterday, January 14,
2010 at the GGA-Audio Visual Center.
Lt.
Col. Suzette Lilian Agustin, MNSA GSC (RES) PA, who was
the commanding officer of the 1st Negros
Occidental Ready Reserve Battalion, relinquished the
command to Major Emilio G. Jison followed by the
turn-over of unit symbol.
The
turnover rite was led by Col.Daniel Dela Cruz, group
commander of the 6RCDG and was attended by PSSupt.
Manuel Felix of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial
Office (NOPPO) and other officers and personnel of the
Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM) in the province.
Lt.
Col. Agustin is now the newly-installed acting commander
of the 1803rd RRBde.
Earlier, Lt Col Alfredo Lazo, outgoing commander of the
605th (NOC) CDC, relinquished his command to Captain
Manuel Agustin, the incoming acting commander of the
Army's reserve command in Negros Occidental.
Col.
Dela Cruz during his speech commended WNU for its
sustainable Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)
Program not only as part of the National Service
Training Program in the development of the youth to
become future leaders of the country.
Despite its drastic decline after it was made an
optional course, Lt. Col. Agustin continues to encourage
the students to take up the course whose vision is to
make the citizens’ dream come.
She
underscored that in her command she takes special focus
on nurturing and carried out the mark of public service,
courage and commitment to the flag and to its people.
