West
Negros University (WNU) and state university,
Technological University of the Philippines Visayas,
recently signed a memorandum of agreement for a research
project during the latter’s 33rd Foundation
Anniversary in Talisay City last March 4, 2010.
The
project entitled: “Performance Testing of Bio Power-Up:
Green Gasoline Fuel Additive” was entered into by WNU
through its College of Engineering which is the producer
of a green organic additive for spark ignition engine
(Bio Power-Up) and TUPV’s Automotive Engineering
Department which will provide its expertise in the
efficiency evaluation of the green organic additive also
serve as a co-author of the said research study.
The
memorandum stipulates that WNU will cover the
administrative cost and provide the technical
requirements and vehicle that will be used for the
testing. TUPV, on the other hand will conduct the
technical evaluation, set parameters, provide the venue
for testing and submit the comprehensive technical
evaluation output report duly signed by the
evaluators and representatives.
Furthermore, TUPV as a co-author of any publication
related to the results of the testing will work on the
evaluation and testing of the green organic additive for
spark ignition engine (Bio- Power Up).
The
MOA was signed by Mr. Elmer J. Bolivar, WNU-VP for
Administration in behalf of the University President,
Dr. Suzette Lilian A. Agustin and Mr. Moises M. Bonache,
TUPV Campus Director.
Also
present during the event were; Engr. Dioscoro Marañon,
WNU-College of Engineering dean with Dr. Leonor Validor,
Dr. Olympio V. Caparas - President TUP system and Eric
A. Malo-oy, head evaluator-TUPV.* (rrm)
