Life Jacket from Recyclables (Empty bottles and used
tarpaulin)
This project utilizes recyclable empty plastic mineral
water (PET) bottles of 500 ml, used tarpaulin, garter
and strings. The tarpaulin will be sewn like a
sleeveless jacket and twenty (20) garter holsters (10 in
front and 10 at the back) were provided for the plastic
bottles which served as floaters. Covered empty bottles
are inserted into the holsters and secured by tarpaulin
cover. Eyelets and strings are provided to secure the
bottles and the user. The jacket is comfortable able to
carry a 130 lb user, to increase the capacity of the
jacket increase the number of holsters and empty
bottles.
